Hello Beyond

i've just moved to Calgary from the mystical land of Castles and Gingers, Bonnie Scotland (Scaahtland i believe you guys say) where the guys wear skirts and eat sheep intestines for dinner

I'll apologize in advance for the amount of questions i'm likely to ask (although i will search first) as the car scene over here is totally new to me....not quite as simple as the UK, but definitely a better choice of automobiles!

Was a Honda nut back home, owned a couple of highly modded Civics and Accords....but Currently searching Autotrader and Kijiji for my first car and really not sure what to get!

So, let the n00b flaming begin :) :whocares:

i'm thinking something like a 1st Gen CR-V or similar, just something reliable as i'm just finding my feet here, so a sensible daily car with a bit of room would suit me fine until such times as i'm more settled!

i'd love a 335d, but it might be a bit out of my price range at this moment! :)

Haha, prepare to be infuriated by people on highways and pedestrians. Driving in Scotland (or anywhere in the UK) is a dream compared to Canada.

thanks man, i eventually sold it for £7500GBP after removing the likes of the big brakes and all the carbon, basically sold it as a standard R with all the power mods on it!

check out Civictype-r.co.uk for UK Type-R information and also pistonheads.co.uk and autotrader.co.uk for classifieds

it was brilliance...no issues with rain as there's a drainage hole in the actual body of the airbox

yeah there was a job advertised in my local paper (specialist field of GE aircraft engines) and i applied for it. Everythings been easy so far, the company have done most of the legwork for me, i dare say it'd be difficult if one was to try it themselves!

I know of a James McCloud, or his son Fox McCloud; no Angus though.

P.S: If you plan to stay on beyond for long you might want to look into getting a C63 like everyone else...

Are you a CF6/CFM or a GE90 tech? I cant think of any local companies that overhaul them (other than the ground pounder units) ... I'm a former CF6/CFM tech.

haggis88

CF6 tech, with little experience of CFM accessory components!

it is actually L&M work i'll be doing over here though :)
