My POS intel 320 120GB SSD just shit the bed with the 8mb bug.

It is on the latest firmware that supposedly fixes the issue.

Thank goodness I put my profile and program files on a secondary hard drive and was only running the OS on the SSD.

Anyone know what the most reliable SSD is?

Dammit, I am pissed off.

In general I think the Crucial M4 lines seem to be the most reliable:

They've been out for ages and have had pretty consistent positive feedback across the board. Also you can usually get them under $1/gb and the 512gb went as low as $350 a few months ago.

Samsung 830 series have also been getting really great reviews recently:

I have an OCZ Agility 3 128gb thats been great, (Firmware 2.15 and greater no longer have any odd bsod bugs)

My gaming rig has a Crucial M4 256gb that also has not had a hiccup.

The most reliable SSD's on the market (according to stats) are currently the Intel 500 series, Samsungs and the Crucial M4.

OCZ is currently having the most issues with their SSDs, with the exception of their Vertex 4 drive, which no longer uses sandforce technology.

Personally, I have a Corsair Force 3 GT, and at the time I bought it, it was benchmarked at the fastest drive on the market. It has treated me well thus far.

According to THIS WEBSITE (http://www.overclock.net/t/1179518/seans-ssd-buyers-guide-information-thread), which is one of the most knowledgeable reviews I have seen, these are the most reliable drives:
Crucial M4
Corsair Performance Pro
Intel 520/510
Plextor M3/M3 Pro
Samsung 830

Kingston HyperX 3K was mentioned in a high end build. The guy was yacking about taking apart SSDs and these looked to be of the highest quality.

Dang, what a wasted trip to Memex.

They are going to send my 320 back to intel for me.

I bought a 330 not realizing that the warranty is only 3 years.

I guess I will go back and exchange for a 520 or something else. More research required.

Oh and I guess I should have bought the IPR... haha

You want the Samsung 830 or another Intel. I just bought a few SSDs and settled on the 830. They're top tier performance and have the best track record for reliability. In reality there is not enough data to really prove anything reliable, so keep shit backed up regardless, but those are your two best options.

Check out this tier chart:

The Intel 520 actually uses the notoriously unstable sandforce chipset, but supposedly they wrote their own firmware and don't have the issues everyone else has. I just settled on the 830 because it's faster, cheaper, and isn't sandforce at all.

Crucial M4
Intel 520
Samsung 830

Those are the only 3 SSD's I'd buy excluding the ridiculous expensive stuff. IPR is only $10/year or so, so I would add that too.

Crucial M4 is probably your best bang for the buck. There are 4 of them in my family currently, 2 in raid, all running flawlessly. Not that that's a big sample size though lol.

I would suggest ocz........ :D
Not. I have a mushkin and it is quite good so that is another option. Lots of reliable ones to choose from though now like the people above have suggested.
