I have 3 huge planter boxes that i need to fill up with dirt/soil so i can plant some shrubs and bushes. I went to golden acre last night and picked up 13 -46 litre bags of soil at $12 a bag and thought that would be enough for all 3 boxes but just 1 took all 13 bags. Id rather not go and spend another $300 on soil if i dont have to so im wondering if i can just use loam and mix it because theres lots of that by me

fill the boxes with mostly garbage soil and the top 6 inches or something, use the good stuff.
buy or find styrofoam and fill it up to a certain point. Say half way.
Then fill with dirt. this will make it light and easy to move into the garage for storage in the winter.
Burnco sells dirt. Borrow a buddies truck and go there, way cheaper. you also could just get some pails and fill them up as well.
Idea's. good luck!
