I am replacing the rear wheel on my commuter. I bought a new freewheel gear cluster for it but I have absolutely no idea what to torque it down to? I read 30ft-lbs in my google searches, but that's all I find. Gotta get this beast back on the road!!!!

Take a look at he Park tool website or the manufacturers website (hub or cassette). I cant remember off hand but 30ft lbs sounds about right.

Yea unfortunately both the wheel and freewheel cluster are cheapo brand so I couldn't find specs on them. Torqued it up to 30, feels about right, the tech I talked to had probably done tons of them as he didn't remember a torque number he just went by feel.

Bike is back on the road, ripped down and bought some new brake pads, rolling smooth once again.
