Two men enter, one man leave!

Who run Bartertown?

God Mad Max and the Thunderdome was one of the best movies ever!

If you watch "Road Warrior" you gotta wonder how any Aussie stuntmen ever survived.

funny after all the talk in the 'Robocop' thread about how Hollywood has given up on making anything original.

Robocop was always lame. Mad Max kicks ass.

I still don't believe this movie is real. Its been in the early stages of getting made for like two decades

and Beyond Thunderdome sucked compared to the first two. Mad Max = cars ripping around an apocalyptic wasteland

A buddy of mine is working on the set in Namibia right now doing stunt/weapons consulting (or something like that). Sounds like it'll be badass...

And Thunderdome was pretty solid for a third movie.

Ugh.. I heard about this.. Seriously .. Hollywood just sucks.

You don't take a classic movie like this and make a new version of it.. Its like when they did a version of Deathrace 2000 and how bad it was.

I use the nicknames Master, Blaster for a couple of project managers I work with occasionally. If you met them you'd agree the names were perfect. Great movie and I can't wait for the new one.

It's not a remake, it's a quasi-sequel. Fury Road has been written and in development hell for something like twenty years, they just finally decided to film it.

The Pursuit Special got blown up in #2, I'm not honestly certain why it showed up in the trailer.

same producer, director & writer as the original movies, guy. this has been his pet project for two decades plus. it is only distributed by Warner Bros. this movie is as anti-Hollywood as it gets.

Yeah from what I understand it's just another story of Max, not a reboot or anything like that

Also I did read they had to change locations for shooting , Charlize Theron was sick / injured for parts, etc so theres been a lot of hurdles for this movie to get made

I'm pumped

while it's not a remake, the trailer makes it look like one. Same costumes and action sequences as Road Warrior. Personally, I would be more interested in a follow up to Thunderdome that explores an aging Max in a post apocalyptic world in search of a more established civilized outpost/oasis etc. Less action, more story etc.

If that is the truth then I can get behind this.

I'm sick of pointless remakes.

I would've been happier with that too.

Everything I've read about it is that it it's both reboot and sequel. Tons of elements are changed, but Max's history is the same (as in the other movies story lines "happened").

Otherwise how else would he have his car and jacket back?

It looks like you can see the factory from Mad Max 2 for a second in the trailer. Maybe this movie is what would happen if he never made it to the factory in the first place, and got captured by the crazies instead?

I've heard about Mad Max before but I've never seen it, the one with Mel Gibson. The reviews of this movie is up there, like, 98% with around ~190ish critic reviews! Looks like a great movie! I want to see this now! :)

Watched it last night, tons of great action throughout and the real stunts were amazing. Very loud movie.

Hey Sugarphreak those trucks are awesome. Didn't know that was happening.

New Mad Max is really fricken awesome. All the live action stunts really help bring you into the movie. All the vehicles from the Immortan Joe's Gigahorse to The Gig Rig and amazing. If you like action movies. Go see this.

I watched it on d-box.

Movie was awesome, but I'm surprised that all these psuedo-intellectual movie critic fags gave it a 99% on RottenTomatoes.

They should have called it Mad Max: There and Back Again with Bilbo Baggins.

I was a little apprehensive about going to see this (as I was worried that they were just going to basically re-make the original(s)), but it was pretty good.

I will say, though, that this movie is TERRIBLE for needle-phobes like myself. Legitimately almost threw up in a couple of parts (trying not to let out spoilers). Yes, I am a wuss with needles.

The rest of the movie was pretty cool though. The amount of work that went in to the stunts was amazing.

Haven't seen this yet.

Is there a reason for the guys flailing about on top of long poles? That was one aspect from the trailers that looked kinda retarded.

IIRC, they're called Pole Cats. Fling yourself in, hit person with a big stick or drop a grenade, fling yourself out again

yeah they can swoop in from a distance and grab things, deposit them elsewhere. it was creepy how quiet they were. you gotta see them in the context of the movie, every action scene was fresh and they save those guys till the end

The whole movie was awesome.

Charlize was looking hot even with oil grease, a shaved head and one arm.
She def earned her paycheck.

Tom brought us a Mad Max that was a cross of a not so eloquently spoken Bane with the mannerisms of the corky Bob from the drop. Not very creative, but hey he had like 3 lines that weren't sound effects or his eyes moving around his head like he's panicked.

The audio was insane and can't wait for home release.

The only complaint I have wasn't because of the movie itself but the theatre I watched it in. Crowfoot had the volume turned down so low for the first half it totally took away from the awesomeness of the movie. They fixed it for the second half and it was much much better.

You should have brought it up after to management. That's BS. We did once with a movie that was getting bad distortion with every bass note during the previews and they fixed it lol.

If it was half the movie, could have gotten your next one free.
It's annoying to have to ask but at those prices hells no lol, get my money's worth.

I went go see ex machine opening night which they offered 3 times the points for the purchase. They didn't get us the points so we emailed, they dumped 2000 points into my homies account and that paid for both AVX 3D tickets to Mad Max:bigpimp:

As everyone else said, awesome movie.

I watched it in 3D at Eau Claire, and it seemed like a lot of it was kinda blurry, which wasn't all that cool. Aside from that, would watch again.

Saw this yesteday. Amazing movie. Action was fantastic, the story was actually not that bad. My only gripe was Mad Max sounding like Bane :p

I thought the same. I don't know much of the backstory but didn't they saw he was a cop back in the day? So why can't he really speak? haha

yea the very first movie in 1979 he was a cop. The other two movies just follow him afterwards

have seen it twice. Could possibly go for a third. Truly a theater movie. I can't see how anything but the maddest home setup could be as great.

I think Fury Road will make all action movies in the next year look kinda bad. Its crazy how well this movie was done.

I liked it even though the story was almost non-existent. Hadn't seen any of the prior movies before going in. Set design is just insane. And holy shit this a loud movie. During the quieter parts of the movie my ears were ringing.

So without spoiling it for me, chronologically, does this happen after Thunder Dome? Does it follow the previous story line at all?

I'd pay someone $1000 to watch that on LSD in 3D...great flick but super intense and dark. I thought it was pretty well done, not time for breathing, just full acceleration the whole way!

Came out today digitally which is neat two weeks before physical release. $20 on google play and itunes and probably also xbox video (Always $5 more than anywhere else) etc.

edit: Google also has an anthology of all 4 Mad Max for $40 SD or $45 HD.

edit again I am dumb it is $20 for SD and $25 for digital, might as well get the bluray.

I liked it. I thought it was going to end when they met those ladies where the green place was supposed to be, setting up #2, but nope, another half hour of action going back the other way haha. Very unique movie, never seen anything like it. The guy with the guitar on their little attack convoy was the most ridiculous haha.
