This guy did a really good job here, LS1 power and all. I guess some guys do like Sunfires.

Looks like it's very, very well done. I can't imagine the amount of money that cost though. To each their own I guess.

Yea something about that rear wheel well is off, think it needs to be more open, but still very impressive.

Yeah the curvy flow of the car kinda ruins it for me. Looks like the gto turned into a bit of a fat chick.

Not bad, rather intresting project.

The roof line gives it away or me. Sweet project, but I can't un-see it!

Very well done indeed. The rear quarter windows ruin it imo though, and yes - that back end is all wrong. Too high compared to the body I think.

Still, impressive.

Not my thing, but respect to the owner for doing it right (at least as far as the pics show).

My thoughts duplicate the rest, quality job, but WTF??? The amount of time/money spent on that could have been easily been spent on a real one.

I'm in the same boat. I dunno what to think about it.

Right in front of the rear wheel, and the rear quarter window kill it.

Too bad, if they would have got those correct (-ish) that would have sold it a lot better to unsuspecting eyes.

The front end looks alright, but the rest is too odd.

I guess anything is better then a Sunfire/Cavalier but why not a Ferrari :D

No the thread was only locked until I have updates... so far my CNC machines design is perfect, once I start milling the foam I'll post pics which could be in a few weeks.

I was having a conversation with my friend about him wanting one of those Fierro kit cars. On the outside they will look ok until you sit inside and realise you are still driving a piece of shit Fierro...lol

I hope he did something with the interior.

^ A lot of the Fiero re-bodies offer new interior packages.

The biggest worry about having a Fiero Kit car, is that unless you do an assload of frame mods, proportionally their never right on.
Usually something is compromised trying to get it to work on a Fiero frame, so their never perfect. The Diablo is the most commonly used Kit car using Fiero components, but to actually MAKE a Fiero into a Diablo (even vaguely) the frame has to be totally redone, which is beyond most peoples abilities. I've seen a few Fiero based kit cars. and some of them aren't too bad. But I'd say about 80-90% of them are a total joke. In order to get decent (as in "actual diablo" type performance) you need to build a whole tube frame as per some well refined designs, but at that point it really is a "KIT" car, since you're pretty much building a car from scratch really.

On another note, these guys use a a 2nd gen MR2 as a donor.

(more info here)

Problem is, its still just an MR2 underneath, and looks oh-so much like a kit car at the end of the day.

About the only Kit car I'd really take interest in is the GTM supercar by Factory Five racing.
This thing.

^ Ferrari/Lambo performance & looks for a $100k price tag. Count me in!!!! (it uses all Corvette performance parts)

Because that doesn't have Ferrari/Lambo looks, it has kit car looks.

^ as far as the looks segment is concerned, did you click on the link? or are you checking out the pics of that DDR car to which I posted actual pics of?

Yes I very much agree that DDR is VERY much a kit car, and its looks give it away in a heartbeat, but that GTM supercar is much more refined. From what examples of that completed I've seen, if anybody told me that was a kit car (that I've never seen before) I'd be quite surprised. It uses a lot of components from a C5 & C6 Z06, but a typical Z06 Vettes lap times pale in comparison.

I think its the up sweep of the window line.. It goes against all of the other lines.
