Not sure why, even with mesh gloves, my hands are fine in the morning.. It's my legs/neck that get the worst of it. And my visor fogging the hell up.

I have a Gerbings heated vest and I'm sweating this morning!! I had it on full blast from Tuscany all the way to work and I melted. I don't need grips or gloves because my core is warm.

Forget heated grips, they just make the inside of your hands lukewarm. The fingers still freeze. Heated gloves are awesome. If I didn't have the jacket I'd have some gloves.

^^you might be one of those hot hand guys, you guys are rare lol but i feel you on the neck and fogging up in the morning.

when i ride in the morning my hands are cold as shit no matter what i do, id like to try gloves that have a heat pad spot on them instead of heated grips or "cold weather" gloves.

i use a small balaclava under my helmet that covers both my front and back of my neck and i ever so slightly pull my visor up to keep the fog out and its perfect for me.

I dunno, I used heated grips at Too Cool and they were amazing. How do the heated gloves work? Are you cabled to the bike or do they have their own batteries?

My hands are really the only problem. My neck is fine as long as I wear a hoodie underneath and my face is fine as long as I close all the vents on my helmet.

I rode every month of last winter commuting from the NW to Airdrie...

Up to -5 C the cold weather gloves are good enough. The finger tips are the only things that get cold.

I used one of those eBay neck covers and had a turtle neck to keep the neck warm. I also wore kevlar jeans with long johns underneath so there was no problem there.

When it was below that i had ski pants over my jeans and the coat for my rain gear on over top of my leather jacket.

This year I'll try for an extra liner under my icon winter gloves and we'll see how that goes for my fingers.

No, I freeze all the time. You wouldn't believe how good a heated jacket is until you try one, it's AMAZING.

i advise not to do that. i actually use those little $1 cotton gloves from walmart under my gloves and while it kinda works, my hands get colder at times.

its just the same as putting too many socks on, at some point its actually useless.

Yeah, I have hot hands. I need a colder weather jacket, as all I have right now is a mesh jacket that I stuff a hoodie under. I haven't had to ride in the rain yet, but I imagine it being quite uncomfortable.

Heated Grips!

I have the oxford ones, call me I'll give you a number.

They are so hot I can only use them on 1 out of 4 otherwise they get too hot to hold!

edit:email me, when VW left last week they took our phones too!!!!!!!!!!

^^

I have done the $1 cotton glove thing.... It only helped a bit like you said.

I was thinking more of a thin thermal glove liner

Edit:

I was looking into getting one of these this season. I heard these work pretty well too...

I did both. I like the heated grips better. I find that the point where the thermal gloves make a diff, I'm freezing my ballsack off and I don't want to ride anymore.

The heated grips allow me to use the same gloves the entire riding season. If you really want to give the gloves a try, you're welcome to borrow them. They're standard fleece lined gloves. Haven't used them in 2 years.

What's the difficulty level for installing heated grips?
