Removing a dimmer switch from my daughter's bedroom and going back to the basic single pole switch when I found a lot more wiring than I am used to inside the box.

What's the deal here? I have never connected pigtailed wire to a single pole (or 3-way) before, so I want to be sure it is done properly.

Thx!

Connect the twisted blacks to one screw on your switch and the single black to the other. Leave the whites (identified conductors/neutrals) alone

the twisted blacks are going to be hot (if you seperate them one will be hot the other feeds downstream to another switch or recepticle)

the single black is your switch leg that goes to your light fixture.

I would pigtail another wire off the twisted black to go to the switch to make terminating it on the switch easy.
