Bowness park - what to do there?

I'm going to Bowness park tomorrow with friends, what exactly is there to do there? The website says that a lot of things are closed due to construction.

Also, is there anywhere where we can swim? :D

BBQ haha. The construction really had a big downfall on the summer. Paddle boating was a fun thing to do last summer but I believe that's also closed for construction. You can bring a frisbee or even play some football? Haha :dunno:

Yeah, sit, drink and BBQ. They dug it all up and a good chunk of it looks like a construction area the last time I went about a month ago. Swim in the Bow if you want to chance it. The left over pond was pretty nasty looking. Just standing water concentrated with urine and feces.

there is swimming but no allowed east of the park apparently.

what you do is what you bring. there is a little playground, bbq pits and such. but i'm really disappointed last time i was there it seems like a dive compared to way back when i was there almost every night.

I have been working on the other side of the river for a month now and been fishing there 2-3 times a week and doing really well. If you fish give it a shot.

We went a while back and BBQing and frisbee was what we did, we went on a saturday and it was packed.

Also, although everyone parks along the driving lane when the parking lot fills up, DO NOT follow suit, when we were there parking authority came in and ticketed every car. I went all the way to the back and the road splits, I went right and there was hardly anyone parking there

Was a large police presence and the bus there this afternoon at the entrance to the park. Not sure if they were checking for rafters leaving the park or coming into the park... we were leaving just as they were setting up.
