View Full Version : Parking and Taking the Somerset LRT

I'm going to need to start parking and taking the LRT at Somerset station - the problem is that the lot is typically full when I arrive.

Does anyone have suggestions as to where else to park?

I thought about parking at Wal-mart, but it has signs up with a 3-hour parking limit (for customers only) everywhere. Has anyone gotten a ticket there?

That whole area is crowded beyond belief most hours of the day.

Drive 2-3 mins more and then park at Fish Creek Station, it would make your life much easier IMO.

That's a good idea. Do you know if there is typically always a few free spots there?

I have heard that they don't ticket or tow if you park near the Tim Hortons lot in Shawnessy - more caffinated folks around.

Fish Creek is usually full by 6:45. Anderson would be your next bet. Somerset is full of high school kids and construction workers. Both equally obnoxious.

Anderson is usually quite "cosy" at 7:10 AM (read: sardine can trains and about 4 minutes walk to the platform because the parking lot is so big)

I use the reserved parking. It's $70 dollars a month. Much cheaper than parking downtown and you have a spot in the morning. Here is the link

Coulda had an alarm system/club. Didnt figure a dented integra was a hot target...

Sounds like a prime target, probably easiest car in the lot to steal.
