I want to buy a new deck that I can plug my iPod into, but use the iPod to pick the songs. Almost everything I am looking has "pick through the deck". I'd like that option, but I want the option to pick through my iPod as well, I find it way easier.

Is there a button on decks which I can switch from deck to iPod control?

The one I was looking at was this (http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/pioneer-pioneer-bluetooth-usb-mp3-wma-cd-car-deck-with-ipod-iphone-control-variable-colour-deh-6400bt-deh-6400bt/10190998.aspx?path=74b6400cb6cd970614ace4f923fdea16en02).

The only way that will happen is if you AUX in to the deck and output through the headphone jack. In that scenario, any deck with an AUX in will do the job.

Have you tried an Alpine IDA-X### deck yet? I used to have one and loved it.

Find a deck that supports BT. BT connections, you can choose songs on both phone and deck at the same time.

I tottally forgot about AVRCP. As long as the ipod in question is a touch, bluetooth AVRCP should be EXACTLY what you are looking for. One small issue you may have is the lack of artist and title displayed on your head unit. The HU may not support the newer versions of A2DP.

almost all of the new Decks have option that allows you to control the music from the IPOD. can't remember what it's called but 95% of the new models have it. " hand control" or something like that..
