I'm planning to pull the trigger on a set of new tires before the winter season to replace the terrible stock Continentals on the 2010 Versa S hatch within the next 2~3 weeks hopefully before the snow hits.
Does anyone have any experience with the Hankook Optimum 4S in Calgary winter conditions? I heard about them as an All Weather tire around late winter last year on TV. Enough snow and ice goodness to get the snow flake symbol, but built more like an All Season. I haven't had much trouble in the snow with the stock All-Seasons, but wondering if it's worthwhile stepping up to an "All Weather" tire. Dedicated summer / winter tire sets are out of the question, I just haven't found a need. Calgary roads are fairly bare throughout winter minus ~10 days. I plan to have the occasional trip out to Banff and Canmore, but mostly just city driving on major roadways that gets ploughed.
