View Full Version : Last movie you'd watch before you die

I was sitting at lunch at work chatting with my coworkers and we somehow got onto the topic of movies, and as per usual, the topic somehow randomly changed to this scenario.

You only have a few hours to live, and you must watch a movie before you die, what movie would it be? Why?

Rules:
- you will live the entire length of the movie, but you may not do anything else except watch the movie.

- you cannot watch any trilogy or series of movies, it must be one movie, regardless of length

For myself, I just chose I Am Legend (the theatrical version) because everything ends with a boom and if i'm going to die I might as well watch something that ends the same way.

Some of my coworkers listed movies like Meet Joe Black, Star Trek II: Wrath of Kahn, etc.

What would you watch, and why?

Underworld.

Because if I'm going to die, Kate Beckinsale in tight latex and kicking ass as my last sights? I can live with that ;)

Blazing Saddles, because it's hilarious and why would I want to die watching something somber, or just special effect eye candy?

Some good responses so far guys, but a lot of you aren't answering the "Why?" portion of it. I found some of my coworkers reasonings pretty interesting, so if you could add your reasonings I'm sure some of them would be entertaining.

either Cool Runnings, Rush Hour 2 or 2 Fast 2 Furious for me because they are my comfort movies, no matter how many times I've seen them I always enjoy them.

The Sandlot.

Why? Its just the perfect explanation of childhood. The logic is especially accurate. Just reminds me of being a kid again.

Someone in my group also suggested Gigli for this purpose. I've never watched it but it sure has some bad reviews...

Few movies make you feel more manly than 300, maybe Beowulf...
300 is more appropriate in preparation for dining in hell.

Forest Gump. I figure I would want to relive an entire lifetime of memories and feel the happiness, sadness, nostalgia and every other emotion that Forest Gump inspires. Plus it has a great soundtrack.

Great choice!

And for you Game of Thrones fans, I myself didn't even realize Cersei Lannister was Queen Gorgo from 300...

I would have to flip a coin between the Green Mile and the Shawshank Redemption...

Whichever one would be a good final watch so it doesn't much matter to me which I land on...

As for reasons...how can you go wrong with either??...that is all the reason you need.

I gotta go with my favourite movie Terminator 2. Seen it more than anything else and the ending seems fit for a last movie.
