Food and place was all right, when it came up to pay our $55 lunch, we gave them $100, they said they don't have change!

anyone encounter this? Our money wasn't fake. Never been insulted like this, if we weren't in a rush would have sat there and said that's all we got.

Sushi can get damn expensive. Last time I spent $80 for two people.

They must have thought your money was counterfeit, because if Ginza is right beside the bank. It wouldn't take much for them to get change for you...

I've been to quite a few restauraunts who wouldn't break 100's. Some even have signs at the front saying its policy not to accept 100's.

Me too, but those restaurants usually have someone who wears a hat serving you, a la Subway or MacD's. No self respecting sit down restaurant would have that policy, maybe they got burned on some counterfeit recently and are just paranoid.

Yes they were decent restauraunts, but yes a lot of restauraunts got burned during that time when a lot of counterfeit bills were in circulation (according to the news).

I have a couple $100 counterfeits' somewhere from that time.

Their policy might be changed now but i have no idea.

Asian Gangsters? how is three students eating lunch look upon as gangsters??? We didn't even dressed or do anything.

Yeah there are fake bills around but every restaurant I know have guidelines to check if they are fake but returning our money and saying they don't have change is fucking bull shit

That sucks man sorry to hear. But I think I'm gonna have to side with everyone else in saying that they may have just thought your money was counterfeit and didn't want to accuse you directly. I'm sure you were kinda mad (and probably confused) that they didn't have the change. But you might've taken more offence if they accused you of being a counterfeiter or just in posession. I know at the Canyon Meadows theater, they accused one of my buddies of having a fake $20, when it wasn't and he was definitely not happy.

I've had nothing but good experiences there. I've been there a lot and I like to food and I like the people.

They should have had pens and black lights for testing those bills.

But anyway, this will soon be a thing of the past: The government is circulating the new 100's with tons of "anti-counterfeit measures"
