Wankel on your wrist? It's a cool experiment but would not buy.

Doesn't sound like a reliable design to me;) How much is it?

That is indeed pretty cool. I just wouldn't trust the seals.

Pretty neat looking watch.

Although technically spinning, it doesn't sound like you'll get to see much of it. The rotor is used for hour and minute indicators and doesn't seem to have a second hand. So I'd expect it to be running at a whopping 1/60 RPM.

Depends on how you calculate rpm's. The top rotor makes a full revolution every 3 hours (1/180 rpms). The bottom rotor makes a full revolution every 36 hours (1/2160 rpms). If you're measuring at the "crank" or the base gear, it's a full revolution per hour (1/60 rpms), and bottom would be a full revolution per 12 hours (1/720 rpms).

It would look cool in a 1 week timelapse.

Ah, of course you're absolutely correct. Forgive my ignorance kind sir.

But yeah, it'd be even better looking if the rotor was for seconds or acted like a flying tourbillon, but as a hour / minute indicator it just makes it hard to read the time without the coolness of a spinning rotor.

Wonder if it uses oil?

by the boat load. what rotary doesn't?!

but really, for 117 500 bucks, i rather buy something else in the sense more classic and fashionable with a reputation behind it.

There's a huge reputation behind the guys that made this watch. There's only a handful of guys today that create these complex modern movements. 1/2 of them are responsible for this watch. Believe it or not, the price is cheap compared to the other movements/watches that they've made.

These things are more art than a watch.

if I had tons of money, I would jump on it, but I don't so I just dream.

But that seriously is one of the nicer designs I have ever witnessed.

In question to some of the watch collectors, does this watch have any potential as in investment?
