ok, so my car is low enough that i have to use 2 jacks, one of them being the stock Acura jack, so im sick of doing this.

i need a jack that will fit under a low car, for you guys that have a lowered car, what low profile jack do you use, where did you get it and how much did it cost?

Get the low profile one from princess auto then.

I usually just drive up on blocks, then get a small floor jack under one of the tow hooks to raise it up high enough to get my large 3 tonne floor jack under it to lift the car up. I guess that doesn't help you though lol.

If you don't mind dropping decent coin on a jack there are some pretty good low profile aluminum ones out there.

That canadian tire one works well, and it's on sale about every other week

^ Much the same one as that. Mine is about 3" collapsed height. If even THAT is too big you got problems lol.

I have airbags on my '38, so that really helps.

Even if I have access to a low pro jack I always used the same sequence on lowered cars.

I jack up the rear end by either the rear diff or rear subframe. I get it as high as possible then use wood or jack stands in the rear.

Then reposition the low pro jack on the side pinch welds or subframe channels.

I've gotten ferraris M's and porsches onto truck hoists with my method.

I don't like driving onto 2x4's because of the risk of them shooting out, especially when wet.

Dude - have a thread here for low profile jacks:

http://forums.beyond.ca/st/334573/low-profile-jacks/

I ended up with this one:

http://forums.beyond.ca/st/339903/3-ton-garage-jack-ct-for-129-99/

Works real well, have been using it for the past 1+ years now, no probs. Got it on sale for $129.99.

This is what I use... can fit under almost anything. Heavy as hell though!

I have the same one. Works great but not something you want to haul around, as you mention very heavy. Bought from Raynard Auto Supply. Not a bad price either.

I do like my 3.5 Ton NAPA jack better, feels more refined and smoother to roll and operate but won't fit under my lowered rides.

The problem with a lot of the lightweight aluminum low-pro jacks is they don't reach far enough. This thing can reach way under the car for optimum jacking points!

I have yet to find a jack that is long enough to fit the front/center jackpoint on the S2000 without putting the car on blocks. The one I posted is close but is still an inch or two away from getting to the center front jackpoint. :(

I believe Raynard Auto Supply is the local supplier here but for mine I called up Canbuilt and got them to ship it directly to me from Ontario.

It was around $320 but it's built REALLY well.. I got tired of having those cheapo Crappy Tire Michelin jacks failing on me.

Although not as fancy as a couple jacks shown above, i went to Princess Auto for mine. I opted to not worry about a low profile one, and just drive up on a couple blocks to get underneath.

I got this 3 1/2 monster for $89 a couple weeks ago. It's pretty heavy duty

Great jack and if your patient great price (they go on sale a few times a year for 50% off). I can get under my lowered vette no problem and I've used this jack dozens upon dozens of times over the years without issues.

Bumping this hooker instead of starting a new thread.

Heads up, CT is having another sale on their lowprofile jacks. I receive their e-flyers, so i took a screen shot. 50% off on their 1.5 ton lowprofile jack. I have one of these, used it for my lowered E46 CAB, was great.

Anyway....fyi

Costco has an awesome low profile one that ALSO lifts really high, so it works on cars & SUV's.
