I'm having a heck of time finding these and I'm really surprised. Am I just blind or are these type of things not as common as I'd hoped? Sucks buying a new blender everytime the blades break and we go through them often enough.

I think it's cheaper to buy a new blender entirely.

Don't quote me on that but unless this is mass-produced and sold as parts, then just buy a new one.

I just bought a Blendtec after years of using a "regular" blender. If you use your blender on a regular basis for things like smoothies/shakes/etc, I'd highly recommend one. They now carry them at costco online for $450...

I use it to clean rock samples so $450 is not gonna happen. I usually get the cheapest one at Walmart but still at $30 a pop, they're adding up. I can buy replacement blades online for $11.99 plus who knows how much for shipping.

If you buy an order of 10 or so, the shipping and brokerage shouldn't outweight the costs if you're paying 30 a pop at wallmart.

It sounds like you barely looked into it.

Ya, I honestly haven't. For some reason I thought these were common items but apparently that's not the case.

$450? Damn, that's a lot for a blender.

I expect my blender to last ~year or two, especially with ice usage.

Typical blenders are ~$50-100 so that's $25-$50/year on depreciation.

For me to break even on a Blendtec, it has to last at least 18 years ($450/$25=18). A tall order for that machine.

I expect Blendtec to last 5 years and it's still more expensive to buy it ($90/year depreciation).

Actually if I buy a $100 blender every year, then the Blendtec would be cheaper by $50.

8 year warranty for home use through costco... and everyone knows costco has an amazing return policy.

Plus no frustration filling it full of frozen blueberries/strawberries/etc...

but what is your blending time worth? if a blendtec blends in half the time... pays for itself in a few months ;)

lol...does the same formula apply for depreciating/amortizing your clothing? cause style doesn't last more than a few months...

I take blending really seriously... I've burned through $150 blenders in just a few months, so I knew it was time to get something that could take a beating.

Jugo Juice switched their branding from Blendtec to Vitamix, so I scored a $1200 15 Amp Commercial Blendtec Blender for $300 off Kijiji... Really can't go wrong, it's got 15,000 Blends on it and still going strong!

I use Omni blend. Its 2hp i think.
As far as I know, blendtec grinds stuff well by controlling its speed but i believe omni blends are suppose to be stronger in terms of power. I think the bubble tea house in China town uses omni blend as well
