Anyone here commute from the SW (specifically, around Woodbine/Evergreen/Cedarbrae) to the NE? What time do you have to leave every day? How's the commute back?

i used to commute from oakridge to marlborough and in the spring, it was about 30 minutes, winter an hour to about 3 hours, no joke, it all depends on the weather.

i took southland to blackfoot to 36th street 95% of the time because deerfoot was terrible and it would always take me longer.

Thats my old drive!

Evergreen to Mcknight and Barlow 45mins everyday, each way

1.5hour if there is snow, rain, accidents, stupid people

Good news is there is multiple side streets to take if there is an accident (Blackfoot, Barlow South)

I go from Woodbine to Barlow/Memorial. But I leave at 5am and don't head home until around 6pm. Pretty much 20-30 minutes each way. If traffic shits on me it can turn into a 45 minute drive either way.

I just go Anderson to DF. I've tried the 14th to Glenmore and all that jazz but it never really saved me any time.

yeah 14 to glenmore wouldnt help you at 5am

it helps greatly at 8am though since you advoid those two bottlenecks on deerfoot (anderson/southland and glenmore)

I commute from EverGreen to my office by Deerfoot mall. If you leave by 5:30 am, journey takes 26mins. Anything after 6ish can take 45 plus.

Commute home. If you dont hit s/b deerfoor x memorial by 4:07pm (yes i have this down to a science) your ride home can take 1hr 15mins.

My assistant drives in from Aspen to 32nd Ave ~12th Street NE.

She says the commute takes up to 2 hours, no less than 45 minutes.

I don't have the patience for that shit.

I leave Chinook area @ 7:30am, and drive to Coventry. Usually takes 20-30 minutes. Once you are pass Memorial it's generally free-flowing.

I went from the NW to Blackfoot Trail/17Ave everyday for two months. Commuting across this city is a BAD, F*&KING IDEA :banghead: 45 minutes was the quickest, 2 hours the longest. Don't ever get the silly idea in your head the deerfoot will not be a traffic jam.

If you're going before 6:15am you'll be okay.

My dad did Evergreen to Falconridge for a few years, he transferred to a Mckenzie Towne location as soon as possible. Cross city commutes are horrible.

SE Stoney Tr done in a year so maybe that will improve it

:banghead:

Thanks for all the responses guys. Guess I'll have to deal with it or I'll have to take transit. And I thought SW to downtown was bad...

Does it make a difference to the commute somehow??

I think the commute home will probably be worse than the AM commute. I used to do Oakridge-Sunridge and if there was no accident it usually only took 20-25 mins to get to work. Going home however was usually at least 45 mins, every day. Soooooo glad to not be doing that anymore.

OP I hope your car is comfortable because you're going to be spending alot of time in it

I should mention that I will be there for only the summer as a summer student. This should make it a lot better than commuting in the snow, yes?

 IS300 on coilovers adjusted to max stiffness, or a lifted winter beater with dead air conditioning.

I drive 22x outside city limits to Airdrie weekdays.
37st/anderson/deerfoot. Normally takes 50mins if I leave @ 5:50am.

Drive home is 70 mins (leave 3:30-4:30) if there is no slowdown on deerfoot south which is normally once a week. Most nights is 90+ mins. Traffic generally slows down around memorial south, but every friday without fail it is 32nd/mcknight.
