7 ft long. 3 ft high. 2 ft wide. No it's not my E-wang. Started building it in September and finished in January. Still have to build a canopy to hide all the wires.

That's a great room divider. Are all the filter tubes and such against the wall side?

edit: never mind, the 9th pic shows it all.

That looks awesome, nice work! Personally I'd fill it with a beautiful display of model cars but tropical fish work just as nice.

Incredible. Thanks for sharing, I love fish tanks. Did you build that yourself, or custom built by a shop? Nice work.

So do I, but fish tanks are like black cars. They look freaking amazing when clean, but trying to keep them that way is insanely difficult

3 drain pipes send water to the basement where it is treated, cleaned, and sent back upstairs via a 5700 gph pump.

Sweet man. cleaning and water changes must be a bitch. Great job!

Not to be a broken record here, but how often do you have to clena that with the water treatment systme and whatever? I'd spend the money to get one set up, but I'm pretty sure I'd have to budget to have someone else clean it for me.

How do you deal with the aqua scape in the lower part of that tank?

Don't let Mar see this thread or he'll never leave you alone with questions while actually not ever going to start his own reef tank!

Followed this build on can reef when I was still reef'ing.

Turned out great!

I'm doing my research. If you would prefer I could jump into it without knowing anything.

That's amazing! But what kind of fish is that in the last two shots?!

Also, why do I find myself once again reading something and agreeing with Mar?!?!

That's funny, having not heard another peep from you after a bunch of us gave you some advice I just figured you're the type of person who likes to ask a bunch of sh1t and then just lose interest and vanish.

Nice! I wish I had enough money and patience for this. Looks awesome. Maybe I'll take up this hobby on a smaller scale when I move.

I believe that's a rare fish known as El Pakistani. They can get up to 6.5 feet long and live to about 100 years.

Slowly people realize I'm not actually retarded. I just ask a lot of questions to learn things.

Nice tank Grip, although I've seen this build on Canreef. :D

I'd post mine up, but still in the build stage (of both of them).

I think I speak for the forum when I say that while I appreciate your interest in the topic at hand, your unfortunate use of the word "hubby" to describe a man is concerning to say the least. What is truly disturbing though, is your irrational fear of cleaning. It is a natural part of a woman's life that should be appreciated. Don't fight your natural instinct, embrace it.

Dust. Vacuum. Mop. Be the best woman you can be.

Thats awesome. I wouldn't mind using a TV and a HDTV loop of someone elses tank(s) Its one of the rare things that I don't mind being virtual instead of real (cleaning a real tank is tough)

Fools a lot of people at first glance, but the giveaway is the frame of the TV and of course when people try to look behind it.

It might become more popular in the future though, setup a live camera of your tank, and charge people to watch it... Might sound strange now, but maybe not, people really like the "firelog" during the holidays.

Telus TV has a pretty realistic HD fishtank channel.

Glasses-free 3D would make that epic

If it were me in the fish tank and someone make the comment, it would be "El Caucasian Fish"... or "The Great White Whale" or whatever, and it'd still be funny..

Maybe you just left your sense of haha in the can while you were wiping the sand out of your panties?

I've known the OP for years, and we have been on beyond for 10 plus years. Anyone with any semblance of common sense would know he's from
Winnipeg not Pakistan. 😄

Does he look like he's from Pakistan? Yes.
Try relaxing before calling people names for now reason.

Fuck me, you need thicker skin.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaanyways...back to fish lol.

Sorry for the late response...

I do a 7% water once per week. Clean the filters and protein skimmer at this time. I have a reverse osmosis water system in the basement to produce water. Using Tropic Marin Pro Salt. The whole process takes about 2 hrs a week to do water changes and clean everything.

The floor is reinforced.

The tank itself EMPTY weighs 1200 lbs. The stand weighs 400 lbs. 1 gallon of salt water weighs 10 lbs. 300 lbs of rock in the tank. So yeah...close to 4000 lbs of weight. Like parking a full size SUV in your living room.

I have 4 steel teleposts under 2 I beams in the floor supporting the tank. Each I-beam is reinforced and boxed in.

That's such a rad setup, I really enjoy seeing a nice tank but man....I just don't have the discipline to ever keep something like that functioning.

Very nice, makes me think my 180 is small, but it is freshwater, so much less effort to clean.

I do also have a 36 gallon salt tank, and from having that perspective, I wish it was larger, as the small tank is tougher to keep stable.

Wha? Your triggers don't eat your snails, crabs, shrimp, clams? I didn't notice any triggers in the pics.

The Hawaiian Blue Throat Trigger and Crosshatch trigger are 100% reef safe. The Pink Tail trigger is USUALLY reef safe.

The rest of the triggers are not.

I'm getting back into the hobby with a 5 gallon pico haha.

Really wishing I hadn't sold so much of my stuff when I got out.
