Im at the character limit for the title, hence the "NE" part. :(

Well believe it or not, a Blazer tossed up a rock big enough to do this.

And yes, I was following a good 15 meters back, so dont think I was tailgating by any means.
It must have been pretty fucking big, it sounded like trying your hardest to toss a brick through an unbreakable window.
It was LOUD, I have glass all over my dash, drivers seat and floor area.
Any good places in Calgary to fix a rock chip? :D I should pull into one of those mobile Deco glass repair shops just to see his reaction.

Whats a good glass shop in South Calgary? Any recommendations at all? I searched and didn't come up with anything relevant.

^ No, just regular tires, and regular OEM mudflaps. Yeah I was taking a massive hoot of my cuban cigar, so it was definitely unexpected when it happened lol.

Had my 4Runner done at 5 Star Auto Glass by The Dive Shop. Great pricing, OEM glass and good work. I'd recommend them.

I'd hold out and see if you can make it through the rest of winter with it. I've got three cracks on my windshield (acquired 2 days after having it replaced) and I'm waiting until May before I even think of replacing it.

Winter hasn't even started. I wouldn't have faith in that lasting a full winter as it's pretty well destroyed.

Don't go to Lou's autobody. They did the shittiest job ever on my old SC400 before I sold it. Left a mess in the car, and left a big scuff on the dashboard.

Just leave it until spring.

^ I would but the only thing preventing water from getting in is that film on the inside of the glass. Otherwise I'd either have a completely shattered windshield or a twonie sized hole. Besides the crack is right in my field of vision so I have to legally replace it. Not that I could care less about the legal aspect too much, but I'd rather not risk a ticket. So I was quoted $260 for a new one, so I'll get that done next Tuesday.

Thanks a ton guys!

Sheiza!!!

In my Escalade, once after replacing the windshield, 2 days after I got a huge impact like that, you could feel it on the inside of the glass!

Sucked!

Happened to me also.

I replaced the wind shield on my FJ last Tuesday... I was driving a highway between Airdrie and Cochrane on Thursday and took a rock a little smaller than an egg that kicked off a truck pulling out of one of the well sites. Impacted right at head height on the driver side

$350.00 wind shield didn't even make it 48 hours.

Check out CalAlta. Had them replace my windshield with a groupon/livingsocial/whatever and it was very reasonable with the discount.
