Porsche is redesigning its Boxster roadster in summer 2004, and will follow up in spring 2005 with a new Boxster coupe, which, like the convertible, will accommodate two passengers.
The most noticeable design changes will be new head and tail lamps. The car also gets a new rear end, three large air intakes in the front skirt and wider fenders and track.
Porsche intends to target such compact sports cars as the Nissan 350Z and the Audi TT with the hardtop Boxster, which will be powered by a 2.7-liter six-cylinder developing about 240 horsepower.
Look for a sporty S version, with output boosted to 275 horsepower, with an even larger, more potent six-cylinder option rumored.

Starting to look a lot more like a 911 to me.

A guy I work with just ordered a Boxster S. He's going to flip when he finds out it's going to get redesigned next year.

But the old conservative lines look better though IMO. I'm not a big fan of the air vents in the middle of the car.

I can't believe how much Porsches cost. The difference between a base and fully loaded model can be 30000 easy.

It's actually what the 911 used to be, pure, fairly simple and more affordable than todays 911's

Hi, I am thinking of buying a Porsche boxter ( 1997 version)
But I am having some difficulties
choosing between 2 porsches between 2 colours Red and silver
( see images below)

Red = well ofcours this makes it look a bit like a ferrari :-)
Silver= I think that this colour is making the car more modern?
both cars are from the same Year. And it seems to me that the silver car looks more new and timless?

And have almost the same price, ( Except Red one has hardtop in same colour included) which one should you guys choose? Which

colour is more famous or better for porsche? ( and which one is a better eye cather?)please give some votes
thanks!!

ps( my dad likes the red one better :-p )

Even both are not good colour for Boxster, I will go for the Silver .. RED is never the colour for Porsche, and .. somehow, I only see some young asian or old white ladies or GAY driving RED boxster .....

And for resale value, Silver Porsche can always sell for more !

Check all the servie records before you buy it, and do a FULL inspection, unless you buy it from a Porsche dealer ( which is what I recommend )

Porsche is the most realiable sports car, and lowest maintanience cost sports car, ( comapre to Ferrari, Lambo, Lotus etc .. ) but still cost way more than asian sporty cars.

hmmm how did i miss this thread when it was first posted??

it's about friggen time they redesigned the boxster... but they should set their sights a little higher and aim for slk's and z4's instead of 350z

I dont think so man. It doesnt have the flares like the 911 nor does have the factory 911 rims. Its also super tiny
