Is it possible for Honda Finance Canada (my Acura dealership) to waive a $450 assumption fee on my financing?

I have an ex as co-applicant, which she shouldn't even be on there now. They want to charge me $450 to do the assumption even though I'm the Primary application. I have to get her name taken off, it cannot be left on.

Anyone know?

Sorry to say but there is a lot of work involved to do those assumptions and you won't find dealership that's willing to waive it. If it's any consolation $450 is on the lower end of most assumption charges.

Thanks for the input!
It's actually not with HF, but with TD as I found out. Easiest route is to buy it out in this case.

$450 seems low, they were $500 iirc and yes they are a pain to do :nut:

That's getting off easy, you should see the price tag A790 had to pay for his fiance fee! :poosie:

what's the interest rate? might be easier just to get a car loan from your bank

Do you have to assume it?

Cannot you not get a bank loan in your own name and payout the TD loan/finance in both names?
