I need someone with a long ladder or scaffolding to plug in, and mount a security camera. My ladder is too short and I couldn’t get both my hands free to hold it and screw it in, without killing myself. I was able to mount the other ones no problem, but this one was too high and the ladder was too steep of an angle.
I’ll pay $200, the job should take 10min + travel. You will need to plug in one cat 5 cable, and tap 4 screws into the soffit, and not strip them. I live Westspring SW Calgary by the Co-op.

Arecont Vision AV20185DN if you want a general overview shot.
20Megapixel camera with a 180 degree view.

If you're looking for a little bit lower of a cost.. then take a look at IQInvision!

Are you currently running a DVR? or do you have a hybrid nvr/dvr combo?

Im currently running just 2x Vivotek FD8134V (1280x800) cameras recording 24/7 to a NAS.

They were about $380ea when i got them.

Not looking to spend much more than 400ea.

Looking to upgrade to a small NVR (Synology NAS based maybe), and about 4 cameras.
This should allow me to have events, and syncronized playback, and a monitor display of the cameras.

I find the 720p is pretty good for my use, and the vandal/weather proof is great. The only thing I dislike about the current ones, is the IR Light Range of them.

Take a look at Exacq software if you want to use your own custom built machine.. Mac, Windows, Linux compatible.. or if you want a pre-built unit i'd look at the el-toaster from exacq.

Vivotek is comparable to Digital Watchdog.. not the worst out there.. but nothing really stunning in the lineup.

With your current 1MP Cam.. it won't matter if you get a exterior IR with further nm's.. At that point your pixel density will be atrocious!

For your next camera's i'd suggest at the very least go with a 3MP.. These can be had for your price range! like I said take a look at IQInvision products as they have a decent price point for a superior camera.

What's the lighting like for your exterior? if there is some light you can get away with a camera that has a day/night mechanical cut filter rather than IR.

Those are cctv monoprice cameras. I used Video/Audio/Power over Cat6 baluns. 16 camera dvr with network is good enough for my needs. I couldn't justify the cost of network cameras. I haven't fired these one up yet, so I don't know the picture quality yet.
