Was anyone a fan of the novel? If so, what do you think about the cast?

DiCaprio playing Gatsby works perfectly for me... although I'm a little leery about Tobey Maguire playing Nick... I always imagined and envisioned Nick being taller and no so soft spoken.

I was a huge fan of the book and am excited but super leery about the chick from Wall Street 2.

I have read the book a few times, the original movie was rather OK for the time. I have yet to watch a movie which was the better of the book. DiCaprio and Maguire will do well IMO, the actresses look to be a weak link.

I don't know... I kind of always picture Daisy looking like that... who knows, maybe Carey Mulligan will do a good job.

That book will never ever ever ever ever be made into a movie that will do it justice. Especially with a range-less actor like Dicaprio.

Release has been delayed 6 months which is never a good sign.

period music should be used in period films... unfortunately, hollywood films have just become giant commercials and we have to watch flappers dancing to an adam lambert clone covering So Happy Together. sad, as that era had such killer music, too.

Saw this movie last night, I liked it alot. Probably not as good as the book, but the movie on its own was good i thought
