View Full Version : 400 Bad Request Error

So the last few days, I get issues loading pages on my phone (Galaxy S3). I can load the forums but when you try to click on a thread I get the error "400 Bad Request - your browser sent an invalid request".

This does not happen when connecting via wifi, only via network. I would suspect network issues except the thing that doesn't make sense to me is this is the only sight/page that I have the problem on.

Thoughts? :dunno:

It's because I use an iPhone. You can take it up with the competition bureau.

hahaha we haven't made any changes, so I doubt it has anything to do with it. That error 400 is a webserver error, which is triggering not on our side, but on our proxy/cache server provider. So whatever your browser (Galaxy S3) sent to the server didn't conform to standards somehow and the server error'd out. We wouldn't even see that on our side.

If we started spitting even a single 400 back to the proxy, we get errors and emails alerting that something's fucked.

With Chrome, I use it regularly along with IE and haven't had a problem in a while. I'm on here quite a bit, so I usually see problems before anyone.

As for Apple products, it's easy enough to use and integrates with everything so well at the house. I'm old, and I like my shit simple. But yea, I've covered that in I think every apple thread already haha. Fan boy I am not, still Mac free here.

I always get 405 not allowed. Ironically, I got this multiple times when trying to make this post. Happens with everyone I know using bb's and also my playbook.

What cane do to fix this I wonder? Basic Internet troubleshooting doesn't work, so it has to be something between the website and bb's because it's the only website that it happens to me on.

Not until recently (after beyond had its big outage) that I started having this issue...

But when I try to type a reply or message on my blackberry (9700 and same on my 9900), I get this message:

***
405 Not Allowed

nginx/1.2.0
***

Then I have to click "back" then "send" then "back" then "send" repeatedly until it finally goes through...
Any ideas?

^^ do you notice if it happens just on wifi or both wifi and 3g(4g)? also, i think youre right about when it started happening, because i never had issues with it in all these years using BB on this forum./

can't say i paid attention to when i was on 4g and 3g haha...

But definitely on 4g...
and i don't think 4g with telus is available in winnipeg, so im assuming im on the 3g now on my 9900 - so im pretty sure it happens on both yea.

^i wont get into the terms, but yes, in winnipeg you are technically using 4G if you are using an hspa phone.

that being said, toggle your data off, just use wifi and see if it happens, im trying the same so i can determine what the cause is.

Just noticed that Beyond is not working on my Chrome browser anymore. All ad spots are showing a

"400 Bad request

Your browser sent an invalid request."

And when I click on any link I get the same message.

Is this just me?

It's because you're not browsing it on iOS6

But seriously, it works fine on my chrome.

I've just noticed this change in FF, happened today. Also the 'get new posts' function layout has changed a bit at the top of the main forum page.

I had that problem before. Try deleting all cache/cookies related to beyond and forums.beyond.ca. After that restart chrome and try again.

ah nice! I cleared out all my cache and cookies before, but this time it worked.
Easy fix. Thanks guys.

Not sure why this keeps happening but every so often when trying to browse the site I get this 403.

I have to go into my cookies and remove all but the userid/userpass cookies and it works again.

I don't think it's browser related as I got it with both IE and Chrome today.

Was getting it at least 5 times a day with chrome if not more, switched back to firefox which seems to have fixed the problem.

I don't get it in Chrome at all on my laptop.
Only on my Andriod mobile browser.

I get it on Chrome on my Mac, but not on my PC.

I was getting it when I first got my Mac about 8 months ago, so I had to use Safari whenever I wanted to check Beyond. It magically fixed itself about 2 months ago. Now it's happening again.

Bumping an old thread instead of making a new one.

Was anything ever done about it? anyone else?

Yup Fixed it!

For anyone else with this issue. Chrome cookies get corrupt fairly easy so use these instruction to clear them.
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?hl=en

Cos you don't need to delete all of your cookies only those related to beyond.
