Can anyone recommend a home-based accountant or bookkeeper to help with a very small business?
Went to an accounting firm this week and was quoted almost $2000 to help with Alberta incorporation, written articles, shareholder agreements, setup directors, etc and $4000ish for the year's taxes and setting up salary for myself, deductions, etc.
Those might be good or standard rates but I just can't afford them, sadly we are just getting off the ground and can't even pay ourselves much yet.
I'm thinking maybe instead of going to a bigger firm with their overhead I can find someone who works at home or on the side to do better. Any recommendations? Anyone know someone like this? Is it crazy for me to think I can find help for less money?
I also don't want to do it all myself, actually have been doing this myself so far and think it's been going kind of shitty, need real help.
