Played on the varsity rink for about an hour tonight, pretty good but there are some holes in the ice. Good thing they are going to flood it again tonight, hopefully that takes care of any bare spots.

Highwood is open, cousin played there on Friday. I didn't ask about the ice condition though.

My friend played at Hamptons last night for several hours and said it was good. I plan to check out some places in the SW Macleod and Heritage/Southland. I shall report back.

Strathcona is open too! It was in okay shape last night, but this chinook isn't going to do it any good...

You live in strathcona too? Small world. The ice was okay, this chinook definitely isn't helping it much though. Definitely some ruts forming, but no holes. When I was out there was a dad and couple of kids and some teenagers, so no, not really haha.

inglewood isnt ready yet, i've heard anything from two weeks to x-mas. i think its all weather dependent. they have been flooding it whenever they can.

Cranston rink was open in the middle of November, it has refrigerated ice and a zamboni goes out every hour pretty much. $5.00 for non residents.

Am reporting here because of multiple outdoor rink threads...

Highwood (central NW) has had skaters on it since mid-early November, boards repainted over summer, fully fenced plus new lighting 2 years ago.

For those that live in Highwood, please consider volunteering on their outdoor rink replacement project - approximately $400,000 will be spent to completely replace this rink including new cement base, new NHL style boards with (probably) fencing on top (plexiglass too vulnerable to vandals), new lighting (LED?) and seating areas. Artificial ice was considered, but the costs of running a plant would bankrupt the community association inside of 2-3 years.

damn I dunno about $5 . If it's busy enough to have a decent game I'd be interested.

Where is the Mckenzie towne rink?

I'll keep an eye on Copperfield rink. A few days ago it was closed, might check again this weekend

Some buddies and I will be heading to the Strathcona rink tonight around 7, skill level is pretty low, but having a few more guys always makes it more fun!
