we need to make a list of what people do to be able to afford these homes. there are so many in this city.

keep up the good work.

Ive seen #4 and #5 before. #5 is a small lot width wise, but huge back yard backing onto the Elbow River.

I suspect more than one thing. They probably have a core business (O & G being the most obvious) and then several other side businesses / investments. Think about Brett Wilson, he's got stuff going on all over the place.

Story: House was built at a ridiculous cost, was listed for around 5m. Amazing finish and features... but it is too distinctive inside to appeal to just anybody and a slow market has left them with no buyers... flash forward to 2 years later, the bank has foreclosed on the home of the original owner, so he has moved into this one, a 2nd mortgage holder has taken control of the house and is trying to fire sale it for 2.9m. Meanwhile the owner is fighting to gain back control and re-list it for closer to 5m again.

That looks like a very classy house.

I see # 1 on the list all the time as it's at the top of center street bridge and visible from most of the north side of downtown. Looks butt ugly from the outside but the pictures of the interior (on MLS) are actually quite impressive.
