Can anyone provide some details on how this works? Is this something yo deal directly with the builder or? I wasn't even familiar with this until I saw certain builders were mentioning this in their advertisements.

From some brief reading online it seems I would apply to the government for this but that contridicts What some of these builders are saying.

If someone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

It was something my builder claimed for me and took the amount off the price.

Had to sign some papers

I think its standard that it goes to the builder (rebate is "built into the price")... I that's how it worked for me anyway.

Yup, same with me when I bought my condo. It was built into the pricing of the unit.

The GST rebate is only applicable to new home/condo purchases between $350,000 and $450,000, and is essentially a sliding scale or paying between 3% (i think) and the full 5% percent GST depending on the final purchase price.

Thanks. From what I've read anything over $450,000 is not eligible for a rebate. I see this figure is from when this program was first introduced and I can't seem to find any information about this ever increasing.
