I usually use Expedia by default because I used to see their commercials on TV, but I'm wondering if there is a better way to scope out flights.

Or maybe somebody knows where / how to find the good deals for international flights

Booking to Bangkok on May 11th to June 2nd from Calgary.

You can't book through this site, but it's the best way to find fares. I saved $1k on a flight to Singapore by finding a connection that Expedia and the other sites missed.

Best deal on flights to Italy last year. Seamed sketchy but right after booking called Air Canada and they confirmed we were booked.

Don't forget to try out Orbitz as well. I remember when I was going to Kyrgyzstan last year Expedia, Trevelocity ect all could only find one itinerary on how to get there, which would span almost 3 days from the time I would leave Calgary and be 4 connections total. On orbitz I found a flight that only required 2 connections, and for whatever reason that airline was not even listed on all the other sites I tried.

Ended up booking Calgary to London, London to Baku, Azerbaijan (stopover, no deplaning) and Baku to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, total time from when I leave to my arrival of 22 hours, vs 36 some hours with any other itinerary that I found. All other itineraries wanted me to go through Moscow or Kazakhstan, so make sure you check out as many sites as possible.

Funny thing too, is that the airline wasn't an unknown soviet line, it was BMI (British Midland International)..why it wasn't coming up in all other results is beyond me.
