Grabbed a few comparison shots of the Hanma HML-BC236 6" LED (combo spot/flood) lights against the stock lights on the Grand Cherokee, which are pretty shit but what can ya do. (Hey, at least I cleaned them.) Camera was set to a fixed exposure and white balance for an accurate comparison of light output, and are fairly representative of what the scene looked like. The Hanmas were just sitting together on my rad, they weren't mounted or anything. If I were to mount them I would have likely aimed them upwards a bit.

Parking lot w/ only the ambient security lighting:

Wow, that is so nice.
Although, since I'm not a big offroad enthusiast, I'd only find these lights useful for those who disobey the proper usage of the left lane on Deerfoot

Yeah, they're my anti-hobo lights. :D

Unknown303 is looking to do a bulk order for a carton of 6 lights in the General Wheeling Discussion thread, if folks are looking to order some of the larger light bars as well we may have to set up a more "official" group buy.

Also, we might want to do a meet-up for anybody that's interested in the lights to check them out beforehand so they can decide which of the spot/flood/combo patterns they want.

That's Impressive. LED's have come a long way in the last few years.

As in close-ups of the lights? Here:

This is the bumper design I will be mounting them to, I'm hoping I can install them in the two bottom cutouts.

I wonder how reliable these are? I tried Googling the model and it just pops up a bunch of Chinese wholesale websites.

They are the same as the Rigid and VisionX lights. Cree LEDs, IP67 rated. Pirate4x4 did a very intensive test and they are holding up just as well as the brands that sell for 3x these do.

The only thing I don't like is the mounting points, but Ballistic makes a piece that replaces the entire end cap with solid aluminum caps and mounts.

Where did you get those? I want to get the HML-B272 for my car

The Ballistic end caps are replacements for the B-series lights, the BC-series have a different end cap design. Fortunately, the part that was known for breaking on the B-series has been made significantly beefier on the BC-series, among other improvements I will talk about later in this post.

I ordered them directly from Hanma via sending them an inquiry via the Quick Contact box on their website: http://www.hanma-auto.com/contact-us One of their sales reps (Crystal) contacted me back and I ordered them through her.

Alright, I have more good news to report about the BC-series lights! Many of the cheaper lights (including the Hanma B-series) had a "toughened glass" lens that was known for shattering if hit by, say, rocks kicked up by traffic. The data sheet for the BC-series also lists a "toughened glass" lens, but I did a quick mini-teardown of my light today and discovered the sheet is wrong!

First we can see the end-cap "problem area" that Fraser mentioned. The B-series lights had a small, thin post that the mounting screw went into, and it was known for snapping off of the
end cap if overtightened. Here is a pic of the B-series end cap with the broken post:

http://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/625440_4599858801406_647848047_n.jpg

You can see that the end post on the BC is significantly thicker, I don't think we will see any breakage problems.

Also, if we crop the photo:

We can see that the lens is definitely not toughened glass, rather it is a polymer Lexan-type material that should stand up to rock impacts far better than glass would.

Unknown303 ordered a carton of 6 the other day, I think they've all been spoken for but if enough people express interest I'm sure someone will order another carton. I think in the end they came to $60/light with shipping.

I take it these are not really meant to be used as driving or fog lights but rather serious off roading only?

Yeah, they'd be pretty blinding for anyone ahead of you. I think you can buy dimmer circuits for LEDs if you wanted to run them on the street.

Put me down for 2 if anyone else wants to group buy. Seriously

Holy shit those are insane. Almost no difference between the high/low beam with LEDs as there are with just the LEDs alone. Well worth the money, imo.

Unknown303 is doing most of the ordering in this thread (http://forums.beyond.ca/st/364823/hanma-led-light-orders/), Phuqu was also interested in a 40" bar.
