That's what I was thinking. Then again anybody would be a scammer if the only clientele they get are early 20's brokeasses on the grind who just don't understand the concept of, you get what you pay for.

I still don't see how he's a scammer. Maybe 78si should elaborate.

Looks to me like one of those guys that trolls auctions for the cheapest cars he/she can find then flips them. He may be a greasy curber but I don't see how he's scamming people.

You can still be a "scammer" curbing/ flipping cars.. I'm not going to say much more. I've been watching a few of his cars on kijiji, plus contacting him and previous owners of the said cars.

How do you contact the previous owners of those cars?

I attend quite a few auctions of all sorts throughout the year, public, dealer, salvage, etc... I sometimes browse Kijiji after the sale and see what guys are asking for the vehicles they buy. his is an example I see quite often.

A car purchaced last summer at a hail damage auction on a Wendsday. By that evening I see the car posted on Kijiji, the ad reads such claims as one owner, garage kept, never winter driven, recent tune up, brakes, new timing belt (this particular car did not even use a timing belt) and a claim of one owner. I did send him an email asking if he had records of all the work and history to which he replied all records got wrecked in a flood this summer. Maybe an off chance he knew the previous owner but I would guess more likely all of his claims were just plain lies.

Also, that same guy had about four vehicles for sale at that time, all with similar ads claiming new parts and exceptional maintenance. Its very easy for an inexperienced person to get caught buying someones lies. Not saying these cars were bad or this type of person is scamming, some guys out there can be very dishonest making the buyer believe he's getting somthing he's not.

No 100% guarantee without a vin... but the accord posted, sure appears identical to the one I sold for my MIL, the number appears in my phone history multiple times around the time it sold...

except mil's was a 96 with 328k, not 200k...

no promises, but something smells bad...

There was a Honda Insight posted by original owner on Kijiji a couple weeks ago, needed a new battery (big $$), sold same night. I could have sworn it was re-posted a couple days later as not needing anything and attached to this number.

His name isn't listed in AMVIC's database either.

Haha $975, wow, maybe $5975.... The new link is for $5900 but only one car for sale. Everyone in the NE has that many cars on their lawn, never mind the driveway, I wouldn't point fingers that way.

^ I've seen an Insight used as a gutted 8 second drag car (yes it obviously had a huge engine swap, IIRC for a small block Chevy). For $1k, that would be one hella fun project. :D

Either talk or let the thread die already.

WENT TO SEE IT, SELLER WILL NOT TELL YOU THAT

ANOTHER LIE OF HIS: $20 TO FILL UP, IMPOSSIBLE AS FUEL TANK IS 40L
