Beyond Hockey Pool 2013 - year VII

We are in our 7th year for the annual Beyond - yahoo fantasy hockey league.

We have 8 returning teams from last year, which currently leaves us with 4 open spots to fill for this year.


A couple things for people thinking of signing up:

-only sign up if you willl be playing daily for the season. Everyone says they will, but we end up with 3-4 teams who stop playing, and then they are dropped from the next year.

-pool is through yahoo

-it's free

-use your beyond user name as your team name

- this is a points based yahoo pool. every stat is assigned a point value. it will break down something like this: goals (5 points), assists (3 points), goalie wins (8 points), etc, etc

-if you can't make the draft, set your player lists so your team will be auto picked

-space is limited!

Yeah, by the last few rounds I was getting a little bored. Plus I didn't look at how the scoring worked until after the draft. My method of build from the goalie out isn't exactly useful in this kind of pool haha.

Oh well though! Battle to not come in last, and time to propose some crazy trades haha!

League is now live. We'll see how many teams will be back before we open it up to new recruits.

For drafting, I'm looking at the weekends of Sept 28-29, or Oct 5-6 (this will be a few days after the season starts). Any thoughts?

How do people feel about doing the draft at 8pm on Sunday? I've had a few people ask to move it later.

I have another draft at 10 am and one at 6 pm on Sunday.

Theres a good chance 8pm wont work, but if worse comes to worse i'll just try to draft in two pools at once.
