I haven't had a lot of time lately for my personal portfolio so probably won't have a lot of time for this either. I'll probably just pick a few growth stocks I like and re-allocate when things don't move as I expect.

If you can multiply your portfolio by 12x this year, I'll help you start a hedge fund.

i joined the global game on there when i set this one up yesterday and i've done ~2% today... when i scalp i normally do alright for a few weeks... then shit falls apart :rofl:

with the forex markets i have quadrupled accounts (real money ones) multiple times in under a month with a similar technique... but then it all comes crashing down :(

I've been watching RIMM today, seems like lots of speculation on the new devices/new OS maybe? I dunno, but definitely agree that it's on a good run.

I bought some earlier on today on another game just to see if I could capitalize on it. We shall see. It always seems to get pumped up in advance of new releases and then fall flat when they actually come out. Maybe this one will be different?:dunno:

I also bought into Sandvine Corporation yesterday, they do policy control for broadband internet providers, they're up like 20% in two days after their Q4 announcement.

Since it's going to be a year-long battle, I'm planning to buy companies that I think will grow for the next 12 months or companies that will have positive returns for this summer (usually tech companies are a good bet).

I'm not going to buy a lot of oil/energy and focus on diversifying.

Or I could fuck shit up and buy all RIM shares. :rofl:

Last time I did one of these, all I did was trade FLWS (1-800 flowers) over and over again... This time I will set up something close to what I'd actually buy I think. Or might just have some fun with shorting.

got it I think. A trailing stop lets the stock run as high as it runs, but if it dips by whatever you set the percentage at it will sell, so if you set it to 2% (for example) the stock could run up as high as it runs, but if it falls 2% of the peak it sells. Right?

so if you place a buy at market for your max allowed value and the stock goes up. instead of it just giving you less shares at the new price. it just fails

Yea, my limit order wasn't filling for some reason so I went ahead and canceled it, then placed a market order and when I refreshed they had both filled. FML.

balls. I took a big position in Genworth Financial based on some life insurance premium information, and a press release claiming positive tidings for 2013, it's down 1.67% already since I purchased. This is what I was concerned about with getting at it late today, I might have to ride this one out and see how she goes. :(
