The small tool that takes the burrs off? Pro Hockey Life and Hockey Experts all have them. ~$15.

Is this something worth getting? I see some people that have them and always wondered.

They work alright for taking burrs out of your skates and touching up small areas, but they don't do anywhere near as much as actually getting your skates sharpened.

If you're in a rough spot and lose an edge with no access to sharpening they'll raise the edge enough to get you by temporarily. In the long run they'll do more damage to your blades and aren't recommended in lieu of proper sharpening.

those are awful! if you run it more than a couple times, it turns in the outside edges

but even if you use it properly, I find the edges feel unpredicable, and have seen too many people, good skates, blow their tires when edging hard.

its better to use a stone to take out burs

there is one tool that does work, but its ridiculous expensive and the tusks wear out so fast... its really for equipment managers and trainers to use to fix at the bench

the non-powered is awful and really doesn't work
the powered is expensive and you have to replace the "tusk" pretty much after 15 repairs or so, which are $30 a piece

I hear this works for real...

but I can't find it for the life of me...
its perfect for the sharpen before or at the ODR, but I cannot seem to get one
