So I just put together some new parts in my old case and want to make sure everything is working properly in case I have to exchange.

i7 3770k
Gigabyte UD5H
Gskills Ares 4x4GB
Crucial M4 128Gb
8800GT
Antec Sonata 3

So what programs should I run for testing purposes? I know one would be memtest86 but I'm not sure what to look for when I run it.

Everything seems to be working properly. I did get a bsod while windows update was configuring but didn't see what it was for.

Temps
CPU - 38
Mobo - 40
GPU - 68
HDD - 32, 35, 30

Run Prime95 (http://files.extremeoverclocking.com/file.php?f=205) (use custom to add more ram) for a few hours or if you're really paranoid run it for 24 hrs.

I didn't test my system when I built it. I figured if I could install linux, it must all be working just fine.

AID 64 (http://www.aida64.com/) is pretty good too. It's better designed to make use of SB and IB processors than prime95. Nothing wrong with P95 though.

I ran realtemp earlier which uses prime95 for 10min. I think it should be fine. I might run prime95 for a couple of hours if I'm not using the PC.

I was just worried about temps since my case is kind of small and I have a bunch of hard drives.

Prime95 is the goto.. Run SmallFFT to test your CPU and run Blend for the Ram.

But personally I just say play a few games and if the system doesn't fail on you its good to go.

LinX is also EXTREMELY good at finding bugs..
