I know theres a bunch of poker players on this site (combined with a bunch of asians:poosie: - i think theres a good possibility of this happening)!

But i'm personally a big fan of tourney style poker - specifically the 8pm - $60 games at Grey Eagle nightly.

Is anyone interested in turning this into a bi-weekly/monthly poker event/meet-up at the poker room?

C_Dave's buffet recommendation got me thinking haha.

WILL UPDATE WEEKLY:
FIRST GAME: Thursday Feb 7 - 8pm - Grey Eagle
Who's IN!??
**Be sure to show up 20mins early to ensure you get a seat - population for tourney may be higher due to beyond.ca participation.

I'd come down for a game or two, but I'm gone mid april so lets get this going ASAP if possible :)

I'd also think everyone playing like the $60 nightly MTT would be much better then playing cash...

How many people do the nightly MTTs usually get? Payout structure and $$? With an 8PM start time, what time do they usually finish?

Yes, definitely referring to the $60 games.

usually there seems to be 50-60 guys playing, i've only got as high as 2nd place before but it was a $250ish payout.
1st that night was a satellite ticket and 400 or something.
& my bad... its an 8pm start, not 6pm. Usually goes until midnight or so for final table.
Good blind structure (15-20min blinds).

So around that ballpark.

... and how about a start-up thurs evening?

My buddy and I played the New Years Eve noon tournament (it's his birthday too), second time ever playing a tournament and I won. Lol (no, I don't think I'm that skilled, more just lucked out a couple times, I'm sure some of the people were pissed at the way I was playing). It was $650 and a $100 entrance in the Sunday noon tournament. I think there was about 50 people in.

I'd be down for this provided it's a night when I'm not working the next day.

That seems like an extremely low payout for a top finish at a $60 buy-in.

A $30 / 45 person tournament on pokerstar usually pays close to $400 for 1st and $250 for second (paying out to 7th place).

Are payouts just a lot lower at casinos? Or do more positions get paid out?

Casino rake is much higher than online. This one sounds like $45+$15

you're also getting a seat for another tourney.

edit.. actually his second place 250 seems low. maybe there were not as many people in the tourney

yea. there was probably less for a payout like that.

I just called grey eagle - they take $6... so 10% of buy-in.

As well, a $5 add-on is available - unsure how that gets divvied up though.

Im hoping we can get enough people to make it this week
:dunno:

If not, maybe next thurs might be better.

Saying thurs because wed = wing night, and fri = $120 games and usually people are busy weekends... If one of those days seems better though - let us know!

$5 add on goes towards dealers tips. and normally gets you an extra thousand chips, so everyone does it.

The last time I took down the $60 tourney at eagle was just over a month ago, 1st was somewhere around $800 and a $300 ticket. I think there was 60 people or so.

The sat 12:00 tournies are pretty good as well. 50$ and they ussally get more people in for that one.

Don't those 12:00/noon games have unlimited rebuys or rebuys for quite a while?? Not a big fan of that tbh.

Looks like next week might be better...

I'll still be around this thurs - but will chance OP to reflect the change.

New day:
FEB 7. - 8pm

all of them have unlimited rebuys for the first 3 blind levels i think.

If anyone is in for a saturday one i would be in. Thursday 8 pm will end up getting to late for those who work the next morning.

Could also do a side pot for last beyonder standing
