Why getting the salute from her?
Someone in the intersection thought the front cars stop moving for no reason then started to horn other drivers. It could be one of the reasons she pissed off.

Is CalgaryB5 the only one got the salute?
No. She made use of her hand by raise up high in the air to receive a 360 view angle for everyone surrounding.

Why take pictures?
CalgaryB5 is annoyed and does not deserve a salute like that.

Conclusion:
I was waiting patiently for her to cross the road and she felt every driver is bad.

I don’t think the position of where I stand attract attentions from others while took those pictures. The first picture you can see there were many big cars and vans parked. I guess I have a good cover by those big vans. I have no fear and willing to do that again.
