Hey fellow Beyonders,

I am one of the goalies, and ive been playing for about 7 years. All skill levels are welcome, we have ages 20-50 playing.

If you are interested its 100$ for 10 games remaining, or 15$ per drop in.

PM for details, or if you decide to show its the DPH FOCUS time. We are usually in room 1/3 or 2/4. The south rink of the two. Time is booked from 2:45 to 4, usually with a little time for shootout at the end if you want.

How many guys usually show up?

Im in Calgary for school on fridays anyways, so it wouldnt be hard to throw my gear in the car. :D

We can usually get MINIMUM 4 on 4 with a spare, but last year was much better, with 5 on 5 and 3 spares a side most of the time.

This is why we need more people, its hard to play 60 mins with 1 spare haha (apparently - im a goalie so I just stand there)

I would suggest full, there are a few guys who go without chest protectors. Getting hit in the shins is something nobody wants. You COULD survive, but dont get in front of the shots if you come like that!

It varies. Last week it was fairly slow. A few of the weeks have been pretty fast paced. Maybe somewhere between an adult rec div c-e depending on the day and who shows up.

Sorry, I didn't see this before the game.
We were 5 on 4 today, 2 goalies, so we definitely could have used an extra.

Check with Kyle (Tarantula), but I'd assume that we'd be up for another guy for the next 3 ice times.

As a side, I think I hit Kyle in the coconut twice today with odd-angle shots. Sorry man! At least they didn't have any heat on them.

Yah no worries, I realized how close time was and didn't want to show up unexpectedly.

I played up to Midget hockey so never the best on the ice, but not a newbie either

Honestly though we are a pretty laid back group so even if you weren't the best we're still going to let you have the odd chance here and there.

a few things for prospective players

1.) No slap shots (unless on breakaway, I dont care)

2.) Honour offside, no icing really.

3.) No hitting, a little hook/hold is fine every once in a while haha.

4.) Full gear, White/black jersey is also a good idea. but any jersey is welcome.

Full gear is recommended, but only so you dont get hurt by accident. There is no hitting, but people arent afraid to steer you into the boards if you are trying to flick the puck by haha.

Dave ... You look really damn BIG in front of the net. Either that, or for some reason the net looks really small.

I just can't believe Kyle stopped both of my break away efforts. I did the same move both times and he managed to get the pad out both times. Let's call it fluke and leave it at that. :devil:

I also took two shots hitting Shawn's shin pads and gave him a high stick to the face on his break away. (Accidental and light, but still I was feeling badly about it!) Hopefully he wasn't taking it too personally... :)
