BMW idrive died, who can test/reprogram it?

So I think the CCC idrive on my E60 died... Its a blank screen of death... know where I can have it test out (other than the dealer hopefully) before I go and buy one.

Also, anyone other than the dealer can program the thing after I have it replaced??
