Mechanics Engineering question help.

Ok:

400mm Outside diameter shafts
600 mm pitch circle coupling
6 65mm diameter bolts.

All shear stress are equal.

What is the Inside Diameter of the shafts?

It can't be as simple as the total bolt<s> area = the Inside diameter? :confused:

Don't worry, it's not. ;)

Figure out the max shear strength of the bolts, then use the BCD to figure out the max torque they can turn and go from there.

Oh, sorry, bolt circle diameter. The 600mm dimension.
