I'll be drving mostly just to college and back, 10.4 one way and same for coming back.

I have a van (that has been fixed for you curious guys), and it takes $55 for full tank, so how long will i have to refill it again, driving 21 km a day?

thanks.

I heard if you put sugar into the gas tank it doubles your milage and gives more power.

At least 5 weeks. Just make sure to plug it in at night and you are golden.

Is this the same guy that was going to sue a Kijiji seller for not including a warranty on a $1000 van after being sold as-is-where-is? It all makes sense now.

Were spamming because youre an idiot. Try pouring sand into your oil intake next time, I heard that`ll increase fuel economy by 20% :)

How would we contribute, you posted a distance, that the vehicle is a van and that it costs $55 to fill. No one could ever come up with an answer with that information. How long is a pice of string

What you need to do is some math, but we won't feed you it (troll) so I'll give a hint.

L/100km. Okay how many liters does your tank have?
Found these out? Okay go do math...

Let me make this as simple as possible.

The following variables will change how quickly your van will use gas
- Engine Size
- How mechanically healthy your van is
- Driving Habits
- Geographical Location
- Air Temperature/Air Pressure(altitude)
- Tire pressure

All of those variables, which you have given no information on, will drastically change the amount of gas your van consumes. There is no way to calculate even remotely how much gas your van will consume given the lack of info.

But undoubtedly you will not understand a word I am saying because:

a) Your level of ignorance demands that you MUST know more than the collective mind of beyond.

or

b)

If you stick to the same route everyday it will learn it the same as an exercise and it will become easier each day.. I'd say by the last 1/4 of a tank you'll be going atleast twice as far as when you started on the same amount of fuel.. Given that, I'd say you should be good for atleast 4 months.

Well in that case, forget about gas. Just use Diesel. It's better for trips under 50kms, you'll be able to go for months without ever having to fill up again.

I'm willing to bet that it's atleast 6 tanks till you get counter sued. At 21 kms a day you got a bit longer to hope that you get reimbursed for your next tank;)

What kind of van did you buy? $55 seems cheap as most vans have a 75 litre tank, unless gas wherever you are is less than 80 cents a litre.

Why would u buy a van if ur looking for cheapest and most cost/gas effective way to get to college?
Why not a smaller vehicle? That would give u better gas mileage?

I'd like to give my best guess. My car is silver and it took 52.226l to fill. So being that you have a van, I think you can get 367.52km per tank when traveling 21kms per day. To improve on fuel savings, most cars now a days can run on flexfuels. Try hitting up your local resteraunt for their used cooking oil and that should help your car purple.

How can you judge a full tank by cost of $55? In summer that's going to be 70 or so.
I'd guess 400km /50 liters on that van

Maybe not a troll, but certainly Ali20 has less smarts than my daughter's guinea pig.

Truthfully, in the post that started this thread any normal person should be able to figure out that it's not the value of the fuel, but the amount that one should be concerned about with respect to fuel mileage. This thread and Ali20's other threads are quite a testament to his/her smarts and in such a short time too.

I dont think its purely about stupidity - people like the OP do exist in real life and are able to manage ..... sort of .... but this thread is an example of LAZYNESS - ask a question on a discussion group rather than try to work out the answer yourself.

I'm guilty of this sometimes too .... google seems to give all the answers to questions therefore the incentiive to compute is reduced.

OP, get these, and a couple of fans that go inside your intake, they can increase your fuel mileage by almost 60%. You can't find these products in Canada because it is a big conspiracy between big oil companies and the government to keep you buying MORE gas!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/EnviroTabs-Fuel-Treatment-Increase-Miles-Per-Gallon-/160971985068?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item257aad90ac&vxp=mtr

I think that with these, you should get at LEAST 5 weeks per tank.

Avg Minivan fuel economy is about 13L/100km

$55 of gas is approximately 50L today.

50L / 13L = 3.847 x 100kms = 384.7km

21kms x 5 days a week = 105kms per week

384.7kms / 105kms = 3.664 weeks
