Ford Focus Aux in

Hey guys, I've got a 2006 Ford Focus and on the stock deck it's got an AUX button but it doesn't do anything and I don't think there's anything connected. I called Future Shop and they said in order to get it working, you have a buy a part from a Ford Dealership, but I've found conflicting information on this when I've searched around online. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this and how easy it would be to just hook up an auxiliary to the stock stereo, or if it would be worth it to just buy a new deck.
