here in Calgary, with the city keep expanding bigger not "higher".
i put in 70km round trip during a workday. that's alot of driving imo.

but then again, a friend of mine lives in Airdrie and works in the south of Calgary, that's ~100km/day and he doesn't mind it at all even though he's stuck behind deerfoot rush-hour traffic every freaking afternoon!!!!!

so, it would be interesting to know how much an average calgarian drive just to go to work nowadays (not those who drive for living).

how much do you drive in average (workday) ?

I drive 7kms each way to work and in the opposite direction of rush hour. Its pretty nice but it wont last forever. If I ever had to change jobs, the commute would be a big factor ecpecially if it meant 1hr each way for 260 working days:nut:

From just work and back, 50-60km's from Marda loop to Glenmore & Barlow (I work close by there).
15-20 min each way, but I work from 5am-3 most days so dont have to worry about Rush hour.
:dunno:

From the deep NW to Chinook area each day, about 40 mins each way. Enough that I'm thinking about a dashcam because 90+ minutes on the road every day when you don't drive for a living is just asking for trouble.

285 km round trip from red deer to Calgary. Only have to do it twice a week this semester fortunately.

It doesn't seem too bad, seeing as some of you average around 100k a day and you live local.

To and from work, about 60 km (both ways). If it's a busy day with appointments, add on another 300-400 to that depending where they're located.

Usually around 25 kms a day during the week (assuming I go to the gym). Weekends is a little more, depending on what I do but I would say average is about 25-50 kms.

Wow, those are some crazy distances. Now I'm glad I spent $70 a month on Calgary Transit reserved parking. I love driving, but not in rush hour. If I'm going to drive a gas guzzler, they'll be pleasure miles.

I am currently doing 100kms/day in my commute to the office.

But seeing driving is my favorite passtime, I am still driving about 60k - 70k/year.

work is just under 5km from my home. I bike a couple days a week when the weather is nice, and 80% of errands are within walking distance. I will travel 35km round trip every sunday for dinner with my parents though, and do occasional road trips. I average about 7,000km per year all said and done. I do some driving at work though, but it is in the shop vehicle, on company time, so that doesnt count imo.

My commute is 65 km one way to the SE of the city but it's mostly highway and I only have 6-7 lights on the way.

Relaxing drive but the mileage accumulates quickly on the vehicles.

Work is about 6 km each way. At work I put on 100-300km per day, up to 600 some days. For my personal vehicle 100-500km a week depending on if I go into the city.

Around 65k daily. Thinking of getting a beater car this summer. Mileage on my truck is ridiculous.

I have averaged 79-80km/day for the past 14 months and have only put 33500km on my car, 65km/day puts you closer to 25000km/year which isnt ridiculous mileage.
