I wanted to know the quickest or best way of fixing this. Any help is appreciated.

Cut it out and do a Caliifornia Hot Patch repair

take 10 steps back and take picture again :)
Is it wall? Ceiling? forgot to put door stops on?
Generally cut out damaged area, cut replacement drywall to size, add a bit of strapping, screw, mud/tape, sand (texture? kinda looks like you have some?) paint...

This is wall damage.
