Question About Gearing...

I have a 2005 Yamaha YZ450F and I love the tq it has. Its so easy to bring up the front end!

Yesterday i just picked up a 2010 Yamaha R1 for $2900 damaged, was a write-off etc.

Right now I'm bored, have nothing to do, and have a ton of sprockets etc

I want to make the R1 have the same gear ratio/ pull up power as the 450F etc. Just for fun.

I've already had the bike apart twice, 7+ up rear 2 down...No good :thumbsdow

+7 -2 was too crazy, or not crazy enough? The two engines have a completely different power delivery and the weight on a sportbike is more up front. It will be tough to get the same feel and still have a rideable bike. I am curious about this, let us know how it turns out.

I have a wr450, close to the same power different gearing though, they redline lower than the sports bikes and make good pOwer at a lower rpm so this would be hard to do.

Top Speed is fun also, but I'm looking for low end for now.

That's got to be scary, once it hits powerband it could easily flip you over
