Lots of posts about this but couldn't find what I'm looking for

I bought a motor for my quad from the USA last year, it was shipped up installed etc. Now one year later the motor is toast, I have warranty on this motor, the dealer in the USA does a warranty exchange and will be shipping a brand new motor back, how do i get around not paying all the fees again?? Its a warranty exchange with no cost to me.

You would need the company to send you a pre-paid shipping sticker from UPS.

Like dj_rice said, it's up to the company to give you a prepaid UPS label or account #. Be sure to check though, as most warranties require you to cover the shipping cost. If not, that's a hell of a deal you got there.

Also the company would have to provide a no fee invoice so that ups doesn't charge you the gst during custom clearance.

Can I ask, how were you able to convince the manufacturer it was a warranty issue without sending them the engine first?

If the item is valued under $1600.00 and you end up being stuck with the brokerage fees, head down to the CBSA office and clear it yourself to avoid the ridiculous fees UPS rapes you on.

Below is another engine I need sent up, the warranty one is already here.

Its going to be worth $4000, they don't know how to ship it without getting all the fees :dunno: And they only ship UPS

Normally items can just be marked as 'Warranty Replacement/Repair' however with a value of $4000 I'm not sure if they would want additional proof.

You might want to ready though this as it specifies about warranty replacement:

"RMA" with some sort of documentation can sometimes squeeze it through.

Looks like the place I'm going through has no clue.

So its going to come up UPS $3600 (They gave me a deal)

Is there anyway to estimate cost addiional on what's going to be owing when it gets here?

Also on the shipping calulator on the parts place im ordering from it gives me 3 options...

Keep in mind this is for an engine!!! I think their shipping costs are very cheap.
