I work way out of town on a first nations reserve. There's dogs everywhere out there and often times they're neglected, abused, or let go stray. We were driving way out in the boonies when this little guy appeared in the middle of the road just chilling. We pulled over and noticed that while he was really friendly, he was pretty skinny and obviously had been stray for a while. We grabbed him and brought him back to our station and we have been taking care of him for a couple days now.
I just got back into Calgary and got him into my house. He's definitely well adjusted and would make an awesome pet for someone who is willing to put the time and effort into raising him. We've been slowly introducing him to puppy food and he guns it down like it owes him money. He's clearly a mix of a couple breeds. Awesome temperament, doesn't whine much, responds to simple calls but is otherwise completely untrained. I'd wager good money he has never had any shots, and judging by a short bout of diarrhea he had last night he probably has some sort of worms or some other puppy ailment. He's clearly been living outdoors his whole life and isn't housebroken, but I've been taking him outside when he gets restless and he does his business there and calmly walks back in so shouldn't be too hard to train.
So I'm looking for a home for him, or possibly some advice as to a good puppy rescue society that could take him in and find owners.
For anyone interested, know that while reserve dogs can make awesome pets, there's a little more work involved in training and it will inevitably cost some money to get him up to perfect health. If I didn't already have a dog from this same reserve, I'd keep this little guy for sure. It'll be a challenge but he's an awesome dog and would definitely make a great pet.

PM me if you want any more info. I'll be kinda choosy as to who I give him to. If I think you're going to be a shitty owner, I'm not going to give him to you.
