Simoniz Pressure Washer - 3200 PSI vs 2900 PSI

So I've decided to grab a simoniz pressure washer while they're still on sale at Canadian tire. Question for the knowledgable:

Is it worth spending the extra money on the 3200PSI unit over the 2900PSI unit? ($270 vs $410)? They appear to share the same motor (same displacement) and the 3200PSI unit offers slightly more GPH (2.6GPH vs 2.3GPH) than the 2900PSI unit.

I understand these aren't the best quality units, but apparently the motors are identical in design to Honda units (albeit manufactured in China), and I just need something to clear the garage floor, remove oil stains, clean dog pee and poo remnants from the backyard and maybe small projects (stripping paint from wood, cleaning siding, washing cars, etc).

Please, lend me your advises. These are the two units:

2900 is fine for that.. We used a 2000 for farm tractors for the longest time. And I do shit like this all the time..

Doesn't sound like it's worth the money.. I always thought the pressure was controlled by the nozzle - so the smaller the opening, the higher the pressure. So that's why you're seeing the higher GPH.

TBH though, a pressure washer doesn't really clean a car that well. It still leaves a layer of film behind. Also, unless you have a hot water source available, you're piping super cold water through it. Cleaning the garage floor - unless you want t completely clean out the garage of stuff, then IMHO the lower the pressure the better; more pressure just creates more splatter. The splatter is muddy/dusty water that gets everything else dirty.

2900 is fine. Paying THAT much more for such little gains is stupid. That 2900psi one will do everything you need it to judging by the sounds of it. The only reason you'd typically want more power is to remove CAKED on oil & grease from (lets say) a leaking engine or the like.

You dont want too much pressure when washing cars anyway. At our farm we have a 4,000 psi (4-5gpm) 10hp Honda (gas) one, and wow you have to be careful with that when washing your cars/trucks. :nut:
Too much PSI can be bad, and un-needed for you. I think given your needs, the 2900psi would be a damn good fit.

I picked up a Honda (gas) powered Karcher 3000psi for like $299.99 from there, best deal I found around!!! It was a way better deal than CT.

And yes, the 2900psi is more than enough. Regular nozzle for washing car is like...2200-2600 I think. Than the super high power is 2900. The nozzle is a variable for pressure as well. I only use the super high pressue nozzle to really clean stuff or strip paint haha. I never use that on my car.

I picked up a full Honda 2800psi pressure washer for $300 from CT when they had one of their big sales. They show up every once in a while

I used to have a craftsman briggs and stratten - loud as fock and died after a few years. Wasn't impressed.

Go with the Honda for sure.

I do everything you want to do with a 1400 psi unit I bought a few years back.

Save a few $$$ get the 2900.

Just don't forget to drain the unit before winter...

Replacement parts are a bitch for these things.

I got the 3200psi unit last year for $350 on close out from CT. (Regular $899)

It's loud, but there is NOTHING it won't wash.
