Anyone know where I can get Shanghai Dumplings?

EDIT: Steamed pork dumplings like the ones in the above pic. And yes, they are quite juicy.

Don't most chinese restaurants have them? Good ones with paper thin shell and juice inside though? I'd like to know where too.

If you're talking about the soup/juicy pork dumplings, I'd like to know too.

I went to Din Tai Fung in Taipai so many times while I was there

That would be no comparison to the stuff we get here. You'll have better luck in Vancouver. The ones with the orange crab fat thingy added, OMG  .

Ginger Beef in Panorama has probably one of the better soup dumplings in the city.

Yup Vancouver has a few places that are pretty good

Yeah this place has probably one of the best I have had in Calgary. Actually has some juice inside.

Peking Garden in Varsity also has an ok one but no juice.

For frozen you can pick them up at a few different chinese grocery stores. T&T has them but it is frozen food so don't expect much. Good for a fix though.

Snow Palace in Crawfoot do ok Shanghai/Northern dishes. They are ok with soup dumplings, on par with Ginger Beef in Panorama.

But Calgary's Chinese food quality pales in comparison to Vancouver.

The juicier ones are Ginger Beef in Panorama and Great Taste Restaurant in Chinatown.

Had some at Din Tai Fung in Bellevue/Seattle and those were awesome.. What's also odd is that even their shui mai has juice. Totally wasn't expecting it and got a juicy explosion everywhere.

Snip.

Going to hit up the Din Tai Fung in Seattle this summer. Did the LA location a few years back. Didn't seem quite as good as the original location in Taipai, but i think thats to be expected.
